Dear all customer airlines,
As you might have learnt that PACTL is facing a big problem on backlog of import airmail from Germany. Our latest inventory shows the total backlog figure is about 814 tons until 28 October. This will take China Post at least one month to clear all these up according to their handling capability. On the other hand, the mail tonnage will increase as always before Christmas. If this situation does not improve in a soonest period, it will impact entire PACTL operation and overall service quality. This is not acceptable to our 50 customer airlines.
Due to the above fact, we hereby announce, until further notice a general import embargo for all German mail no matter on which airline.
As of 3rd Nov. we will charge airlines with extra 0.45RMB/kg for the storage fee of new arrival German airmail after two days free term.
We appreciate for the efforts already made by certain of our customer airlines.
